*For the meatballs:*

There’s something about the way that glossy sauce clings to every bite… the little pops of green onion throughout… the way they smell when they’re baking and the whole house just feels warmer. My husband literally asked if we could have these every week.
**INGREDIENTS:**
*For the meatballs:*
• 1½ lbs ground beef (or half beef, half pork)
• 1 cup cooked white rice
• ½ cup finely chopped green onions
• 1 egg
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1 tsp salt
• ½ tsp black pepper
*For the sauce:*
• 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed French onion soup
• ½ cup water
• 2 tbsp brown sugar
• 2 tbsp soy sauce
• 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
**INSTRUCTIONS:**
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, cooked rice, green onions, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until just combined.
Roll into golf ball-sized meatballs and place them in a 9×13 baking dish.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the French onion soup, water, brown sugar, soy sauce, and Worcestershire until smooth.
Pour the sauce over the meatballs, making sure each one gets coated.
Cover tightly with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake another 15 minutes until the sauce thickens and the meatballs are deeply browned on top.
Spoon extra sauce over each meatball before serving.
Serve over more rice or with mashed potatoes to soak up every bit of that sauce. Trust me, you’ll want to.
