A man named Carl went to an interview for a job as a Corporate Problem Solver. During the interview he had boasted about his various connections and how he could solve most problems with a simple phone call.

“So the fire alarm system is malfunctioning, what do you do?” Inquired the boss.
Carl answered “Oh thats easy, i would call my buddy Allan who designed the system and get him to fix it.”
The boss was impressed and continued:
“And if the computer fails?”
Carl answered “thats easy too! My buddy Greg designs pcs for microsoft, hell help me fix it.”
The boss was excited and could tell that Carl knew some good people, but how practical was this quality? He thought a moment and continued.
“Ok, one more: your son is misbehaving and nothing you or your wife does works, what do you do?”
Carl chuckled lightly and said: “That one’s easy too, I’ll call my buddy Frank-“
“And let me guess, he’s a parenting expert?” Interrupted the boss, almost irritated at the simple answers.
Carl replied “Nah, he used to be our mailman.”
