Rudy Giuliani, 81 in Critical Condition, Spokesman Says

Rudy Giuliani has been hospitalized in critical condition, his spokesman said.The spokesman, Ted Goodman, announced in a statement on social media on Sunday, May 3, that the former New York City mayor, 81, is “currently in the hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition.”
“Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he’s fighting with that same level of strength as we speak,” Goodman said.
“We do ask that you join us in prayer for America’s Mayor Rudy Giuliani,” he added.
It is unclear what led to Giuliani’s hospitalization.
In August 2025, Giuliani was seriously injured in a car accident in New Hampshire.
The former mayor’s head of security, Michael Ragusa, shared in a statement on Instagram at the time that Giuliani “was flagged down by a woman who was the victim of a domestic violence incident” and “immediately rendered assistance and contacted 911.”
“He remained on scene until responding officers arrived to ensure her safety. Following this, while traveling on the highway, Mayor Giuliani’s vehicle was struck from behind at high speed,” the statement continued.
